The “Monitoring Effects of Policies and Measures Pertaining to Violence against Women” conference took place at the Palace of Serbia[ i ] on November 17th, 2011. 140 people from Serbia and abroad attended the conference.

The conference’s goal was to present the newly formed Observatory for Monitoring Violence against Women, an independent, expert body that works on monitoring and assessing the effects of policies and measures in relation to combating violence against women. The occasion was also used to present the newly adopted state documents about combating violence against women, while special emphasis was given to monitoring the implementation of planed measures, implementation results of the Strategy for the Protection from Domestic Violence and Other Forms of Gender Based Violence in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, as well as activities intended to establish cooperation among local community institutions, which have been implemented in 15 towns/municipalities in Serbia.
