On Thursday, November 9th, two workshops were held in Belgrade on providing support to women with disabilities in situations of (sexual) violence, with the financial support of Kvinna till Kvinna foundation. Participants of the workshops were activists of the Women against Violence Network who received practical guidelines for working with women with disabilities and had the opportunity to hear the experiences of women with disabilities from practice.

The workshop “Etiquette of Disability: Recommendations for interaction with women with disabilities” were conducted by Svjetlana Timotić - executive director of the organization ... FROM THE CIRCLE - VOJVODINA. She gave a brief historical introduction and presented participants with the models and definitions of disability, and then cited guidelines for working with women who have different forms of disability.

A longtime activist and independent expert Olivera Ilkić conducted a workshop entitled Sexual violence and harassment of women with disabilities in their families and/or institutions. She provided examples from practice, informed participants about the specific forms of violence faced by women with disabilities and provided answers to questions on how to provide support to women with disabilities surviving violence.
