11-12.9.2017. Sarajevo - Representatives of the Women against Violence Network, Vedrana Lacmanović, and the Autonomous Women's Center, Marina Ileš, attended the conference "Empowering women's organizations and movements for the fight against violence: New perspectives and performance measurements" in Sarajevo. The conference was organized by the OAK and Trag foundations.
Activists from women's NGOs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia met and discussed the revised strategy of the program "Empowering women's organizations and movements to combat violence against women" of the OAK foundation. As pointed out, the focus of OAK within the revised strategy will be to support building and strengthening the women's movement by investing in leadership, capacities, space, connectivity and mobilization. In support of combating domestic violence (the other two components of the strategy are directed towards the fight against human trafficking and exploitation and the promotion of women's rights in crisis situations), key areas of support are services, legal framework and accountability, prevention and empowerment.
Participants in the conference also presented interactive and participatory methods of collecting data on the results of women's organizations' work and their presentation, as well as monitoring and processing results through the Impact Mapper platform. These methods are intended for the improvement of the process of monitoring and evaluating the activities of organizations, with the aim of improving work through learning.
